Can't open attachments in Outlook Express
try this. The default setting is a little to tight.(You do have antivirus. Right !)

1. Open Outlook Express
2. On the top left... Left click tools.
3. click on options... last selection.

In the Options Window
4. click on Security tab at the top.
5. Uncheck the selection that says... Do Not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.
6. click OK.

The Best settings for Outlook Express with Dialup
This can be used for any connnection but is especially usefull with dialup.
WHY: You can log on and surf the net without having all your bandwidth hogged.
When you want your mail you click SEND RECIEVE at the top of Outlook Express

1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on TOOLS (top left)
3. Click on OPTIONS

It will open in the GENERAL page
4. Uncheck the sixth box down
   Send and recieve messages at startup
5. Uncheck the seventh box
   Send and Recieve Messages every ? minutes
6. click CLOSE
