- Open Outlook Express
- Click FILE (top left)
- Click EXPORT
- click Address book
*On the Address Book Export tool page
- Click on Tex File (Comma Separated Values)
- click on EXPORT
*On the CSV export page
- Click BROWSE
In the Save as page
Go down to the "File Name:" box
- type in Your addresses
Below that in "Save As Type:" box
- click on the arrow and select Text files(*txt)
- click SAVE
*Back to the CRV export page
- Click NEXT
- Put a Checkmark in the Boxes you want
- Click FINISH
- click Close
Now you have all your addresses backed up in Outlook Express you can use for backup
on a Floppy or Disk or import it to another computer. This is the best method for me
(.txt) because its can be used to import almost any program w/o typing it all...

IMPORT Your Backup Addresses
into OUTLOOK EXPRESS
One common problem is trying to Import from a CD ROM
You MUST first Cut and Paste Backup to your hard drive
- Open Outlook Express
- click FILE (top left)
- click IMPORT...
- click Other Address Book
*On the Address Book Import Tool page
- click on Tex File (Comma Separated Values)
- then click on IMPORT
On the CSV Import page
- click BROWSE
*On the Open page
In the Save as type: box towards the bottom
- click on the arrow
- click on Text Files(*txt)
In the look in: box towards the top
- click on the arrow
and locate the folder where Your Addresses are.
- click on Your Address to highlight it
- click OPEN
Back to the CSV import page
- click NEXT
- put checkmarks in the boxes you want
- click FINISH
Just like magic I hope. If you have trouble go to troubleshooting.
BACKUP EMAIL ADDRESSES from OUTLOOK
- Open Outlook
- left click File
- left click Import export
On the Import and Export Wizard page
- left click on Export to a file
- left click Next
On the export to a file page
- left click TAB separated files(Windows) its the last selection
- left click Next
- left click Contacts
- left click Next
- left click Browse
- locate destination folder
( probably My documents?)
- Right click Empty space in folder
- left click New
- left click Text document
- The next move is to put your curser on top of new text document.txt
Left click to highlight new document.txt
- right click and select Rename
- Name your File Your addresses.txt ? (You name it)
- left click OK
- left click next
- left click Finish

from Outlook Express or Outlook

- Click on Save
On the
save as page:
- Locate the folder you want
to save it in

- Rename it Your addresses
On the
File type: line
- click on the arrow
- click on all files
- click on Save
Import Address book into Yahoo
- Open yahoo Address Book
Find the Import/Export link towards the top on the right
- click on Import/Export

On the
Choose a program to import contacts from: line
- click on the arrow
- click on Microsoft Outlook(.csvfile)
Note: You can use your Addresses.txt
from Outlook Express or Outlook

Specify the file to import: line
- click browse
- Find your addresses.txt
- Double click your addresses.txt
(two quick left clicks)
The location address to your addresses.txt
should be in the box to the left of the browse button on the Yahoo Import and
Export page
In the
Press Import Now to Import the file: line
- click on the Import button
TROUBLESHOOT PROBLEMS
If you have Different versions of Outlook express
(Like 5 and 6)
and are having problems. Either Update both versions to outlook Express 6 or
go to go to understanding Comma Delimited to make adjustments.

- Open Outlook Express
- Click on help
- Click on About Outlook... Express
- To Update for free go to Microsoft Update Click here
